How To Use Dolls To Train Older Siblings

Are you expecting your second, third, or fourth child? If you are, then perhaps you are already bothered as to how your older child/children will manage once the new addition in the family comes out. If you have two or three children at that, for sure you've already seen how sibling rivalry can take place and how difficult it is for you to make them come into real good terms when playing and doing other stuff. So as early as now, you are thinking of ways on how to make them get used to the fact that another sibling is coming their way. The transition could be really difficult not only for you as parent but for your kids as siblings. You might as well introduce to them how older siblings should be. Train them using dolls so they'll feel included and not replaced once the baby is out in this world. Using dolls to train older siblings can be very effective. With this technique, you can teach them three things: how to hold the baby, feed the baby, and change the baby's diaper. When holding the baby, you can show them the right way to do it by laying a doll down then slowly pick it up by supporting its head and neck gently. Then, snuggle the doll in your arms carefully so you will not drop it. Now, after that short demonstration, let your kid/kids try it. Next, train them how to feed the baby. But to do this, you have to get a doll that comes with a feeding bottle. Once you got one, show your kid/kids how to carefully hold the baby while sitting down and feeding it. Instruct them not to move too much when feeding and make sure that they learn how make the baby burp too after feeding. Lastly, teach them how to change baby's diapers. But this would only be applicable if you already have older children at that, like 10 years old and above. But if your child is still in diapers at that, then this one is not necessary. These are the three things that you can train your older children using dolls. Although some parents may not find this necessary, all in all, this training time will give older children something to look forward to when the baby finally comes out. With this training using dolls, they will not only feel included but will gain a sense of importance too.
